I just got a stage 3 small acoustic case 2 weeks ago from an OLF member, and was pleased with the quality and value of it. I also just received a stage 5 case dreadnaught case today, from another OLF member, with a marked differene in fit.

The stage 5 case lid fits poorly on the bass side lower bout, for a length of about a foot. On the treble side waist, it fits poorly for almost a foot.

The lid appears up to 1/4" oversized in the areas mentioned, and leaves a sizeable gap when you close the lid on the case. Also the 3 case lid lanyards are diffferent lengths. Bottom line, I would not use this case for customer's guitar.

I gather that this is unusual. Does anyone have any input?

In the interest of protecting Access' reputation, please answer with wisdom and tact, and make use of Private Messenger if prudent to do so. I am not starting a bash fest, just need to know what to expect, and what I should do Terry Stowell38997.6213078704

Terry, I have two Access cases in the house right now. Both are very nice cases. They are both Stage 5 cases. I don't see any problems with the way they are made.

I would suggest calling someone at Access and telling them about your cases. They are very customer friendly and I'm sure they would like the chance to make things right for you.

You did not get a typical stage 5 case. Call Access; they are great about correcting any issues immediately.

All the stage 5 cases I've ever got from them were very well put together and
fit great.

Terry,

Sounds like that one got racked or something, perhaps after it left Access...I doubt their quality control would let that kind of thing slip by...give 'em a call!

I wonder if they would seeing that I got it from another party. I didn't bother with the seller, he just resold to me as an extra, and I don't think it was even opened by him.

I thought it was you Michael, that mentioned that a while back.

I'll give hem a call. Hope they handle the shipping too.

the two stage 3 cases i got were both pretty finicky to close - just didn't seem to fit quite right. on one of them the lip of of the case was bent pretty badly at the head stalk end.
given the price they were still an okay purchase. but due partly to that (and even more so due to not having a canadian distributor), i'll need to find other alternatives.
keith from access was really good about hooking me up with someone just across the boarder from where i live. so the service was as good as i could hope for considering they don't really do business with candians.
that's my 2 bits.
